Enjoy the sights from the annual Stars & Stripes Scramble at Whitefish Golf Club in Pequot Lakes, held June 7, 2025. A beautiful day held itself together with great conditions for patriotic golfers, veterans, volunteers and staff for the former Memorial Day tournament that is now held on the first weekend of June.

This year’s fundraiser garnered $10,000 in support for Homeless & Wounded Warriors – MN, a veteran-led non-profit organization that gives back directly to ailing veterans in the community. We’ve seen firsthand how their work has helped area veterans and their families through car and home repairs, utility assistance, Christmas gifts, handicap-accessible equipment and much more.

Mark your calendar for another opportunity to give back to HWW–MN this month with a summer fishing-gear raffle on Saturday, June 28. The Woodtick Inn of Cuyuna is the new venue for the twice-yearly raffles, and prize drawings will now begin at 5 p.m.

Some of the great prizes include a $2,000 kayak package, rod-and-reel packages, cash, and a lifetime fishing license for a youth angler (ages 4 to 15). Tickets may be purchased at the event well in advance of the 5 p.m. drawing.
