With the opening of several area golf course in the past days, it’s time to start thinking about the 2021 Homeless and Wounded Warriors — MN Memorial Day Golf Event. This year’s event will be held Monday, May 31, 2021, at Whitefish Golf Course in Pequot Lakes, located along Highway 16 near Ideal Corners.
While COVID-19 put a bit of a damper on last year’s event, people still happily donated to this worthy cause, and organizers were able to raise more than $5,000 for local wounded veterans and their families. Of course, this charitable organization holds several other annual events — including a kayak fishing tournament on June 5 this year — but the golf tournament is an easily accessible event and fun even for those who don’t want to golf.
Please consider entering this year’s event, which is $79 per person and includes 18 holes, a cart and a dinner after golfing. But even those who don’t golf can still “chip in.” Homeless & Wounded Warrior accepts direct donations at the event. Clothing and other merchandise will also be available for purchase, which also helps support this organization.
To register for golf, please call 218-543-4900, or go to www.whitefishgolf.com and see the event schedule.
