Aim far and go serve big this month
As the echo of last month’s motorcycles fades away, we look forward to rustling leaves, fewer bugs and the chorus of migrating waterfowl.
It’s an abrupt transition that makes us cling to waning summer days, yet we charge into the brisk autumn wind with reminders of the great things fall provides. For some, that means hunting season, quiet time in the woods, Halloween parties or pumpkin-spice everything. But before we look to the end of the month and our upcoming worthy-cause events, let’s look back one last time and imagine the open, summer road.
September motorcycle ride raises $8,700 for veterans
They rode through rain to see the sunshine on what became a late-summer afternoon beauty.
More than 40 riders convoyed their efforts and their bikes last month for the 21st annual Motorcycle Ride supporting Homeless & Wounded Warriors – MN. After making several stops from the Crosslake registration point, riders returned to the Crosslake American Legion for an official welcome from the Color Guard and Crosslake Fire Department. After a few burnouts, proper announcements and a community meal, participants raised a total of $8,700 for HWW – MN.
