Helping heroes for the holidays; good deeds and donations for December
That’s nearly a wrap: another year of giving back to the community through real estate referrals, fundraisers, and our “Go Serve Big” mission.
As you know, we love giving back to veterans and first responders through a portion of every real estate commission we generate. We proudly support the Nisswa Fire Department, Eagle’s Healing Nest, and Homeless & Wounded Warriors – MN.
Each year, these organizations hold a wide variety of community events, raffles, and other fundraisers — and 2025 saw a lot of major successes. A new equine therapy program called Guardian 4 Heroes is working closely with Eagle’s Healing Nest in Sauk Centre to help veterans struggling with PTSD, and HWW–MN held its largest-single fundraiser in October with a gun raffle that raised almost $31,000.
However, the work is not quite done. There’s one last chance to easily make a difference this month, and for the lucky ones it will be like unwrapping Christmas presents all over again!

You can’t catch a fish unless your line’s in the water, and you can’t win the fishing gear unless your tickets are in the box!
Yes, it’s the raffle that follows the exact philosophy of the prizes that it touts.
The annual ice fishing gear raffle supporting Homeless & Wounded Warriors – MN has moved up to December. The event — previously held in February — will now be held on Saturday, Dec. 27, at the Woodtick Inn of Cuyuna. Prize drawings begin at 5 p.m., so show up early and get tickets before they’re gone! Tickets are $20 each and go toward ice fishing gear such as augers, rod-reel combos, a guided trip, electronics, tackle packages and more.
