Stars & Stripes Scramble Golf Event Returns for HWW–MN

We’ve spent a lot of time on the proverbial “driving range” announcing this month’s charitable golf event. It’s finally time to head to the tee box.
Join fellow golfers, volunteers and patriots for the annual Stars & Stripes Scramble, Saturday, June 7, at Whitefish Golf Club of Pequot Lakes. The former Memorial Day event is now held the first Saturday of June. Sign up with the Whitefish clubhouse by calling 218-543-4900. Tickets are $150 per golfer and include 18 holes, a cart and dinner. All proceeds support Homeless & Wounded Warriors – MN.

Sure, we’ve taken plenty of “mulligans” promoting this event, but there’s only ONE shot at the $10,000 hole-in-one — or the exclusive fishing experience with pro bass angler Hunter Wendt. Tee up for a great cause, and know that all proceeds will support local veterans in many ways, including car and home repairs, utility bill assistance, handicap and medical devices and so much more.
It doesn’t matter whether you post big drives down the fairways or big numbers on the scorecard. Just Go Serve Big!
More than just a golf tournament
Not all difference-makers will carry golf clubs on this special Saturday.
For those who can’t register or simply don’t play golf, there’s plenty of time to make a freewill donation or purchase apparel from Homeless & Wounded Warriors – MN. It’s a day of community effort, awareness and joy — shared by volunteers, veterans and leaders of veteran-focused organizations in the area.
Want to go a step further? Become an event sponsor. Call HWW-MN Chairman Russ Philstrom at 651-329-1373 to feature your business at the event. Whitefish Golf Club is located at 7883 County Rd 16, Pequot Lakes, MN.
Take a Vet Fishing is back on Leech Lake, June 14

More patriotic competition returns to Leech Lake on June 14 for the 11th annual Take a Vet Fishing tournament, hosted by Trapper’s Landing Lodge and Wounded Warriors Guide Service.
Jim Flesch — professional fishing guide and Realtor on our team — has volunteered to lead another pair of veterans for the fifth year. Veterans on Jim’s team have claimed the top spots multiple times, including first and second places in 2024 by a father-son duo.
