Almost time to scramble … Public tourney supports local veterans
We’re just a chip shot away from one of the area’s most meaningful golf tournaments.
The annual Stars & Stripes Scramble supporting Homeless & Wounded Warriors – MN will be held Saturday, May 30, at Whitefish Golf Club in Pequot Lakes.
Formerly held on Memorial Day weekend, the tournament now takes place the following weekend, allowing for greater participation and a full day of excitement with fellow golfers, veterans, and volunteers. Golfers will have multiple chances to win prizes, highlighted by a $10,000 hole-in-one opportunity sponsored by the Crosslake Lions Club. But the biggest impact comes off the course. Proceeds from this event and other HWW-MN fundraisers have helped local veterans with home repairs, car repairs, handicap-accessible equipment, utility bills, clothing, and more.

Memorial Day Weekend kicks off with a bang this year with a 21-gun raffle supporting Homeless & Wounded Warriors – MN.
The Saturday, May 23, prize drawing will be held at the Woodtick Inn of Cuyuna and will include a whopping range of 21 firearms. The drawing begins at 5 p.m.
The Woodtick Inn is now the home base for HWW-MN raffles, and the firearms raffle has become the largest-single fundraiser for the organization each year. Past raffles have raised $30,000 and up. And the upcoming raffle features more prizes than ever. From pistols to shotguns to muzzleloaders, there’s something for everybody. That’s because firearms can be traded back to the retailer for equal value of sporting equipment! Eagle’s Healing Nest tournament set for June 7
Didn’t post the score you wanted at the last tournament? Here’s another chance — and it still supports veterans!
Golfers can get back on the course June 7 for the Eagle’s Healing Nest’s inaugural tournament at Lynx National Golf Course in Sauk Centre. Registration begins at 9 a.m., with four-person teams set for a full day of competition and camaraderie. Entry is $500 per team, with the day wrapping up with a dinner and auction. Sponsorship opportunities are also available, including Bronze ($250), Silver ($500), Gold ($1,000), and Platinum ($2,000) levels.
Proceeds from the event support Eagle’s Healing Nest in Sauk Centre and its mission to assist veterans and individuals in need.
